As the Director of Mental Health Services for Clinicas, it is my goal to make sure we provide a significant contribution to improve the health of Ventura County residents by providing quality and effective mental health services. I am committed to make sure we provide mental health services with empathy, compassion and in a cultural competent manner. I’m honored to work with a group dedicated and experienced mental health providers, who share the same goals. Being part of Clinicas has allowed me to provide integrated behavioral services and collaborate with other health providers to improve the overall health of our patients.
I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 28 years. I obtained a Masters of Social Work degree from San Jose State University. I’m bilingual/bicultural, English/Spanish. I have extensive experience in the Child Welfare System and in Mental Health. My interest has always been to improve services for underserved populations.
I graduated from Tuoro University in 2014 and moved back home to Ventura County shortly after. Since then I have been fortunate enough to work with a diverse population of pediatric and adult patients. As a healthcare provider, I find it important to establish a team mentality with my patients, working to find a treatment plan or healthy lifestyle. Preventative medicine is something that I am passionate about and I like to educate my patients on lifestyle modifications to help live a healthier lifestyle both physically, mentally and emotionally.
I am a Ventura County native and in my free time love spending time with my family, doing anything that gets me outdoors; hiking, camping, fishing and of course, playing soccer.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read a little bit more about me. I would like for you to know that my goal is to create a safe environment for you to feel free to explore the issues impacting your life. Welcome to a judgment free zone. I approach mental health holistically, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have had the opportunity to work with individuals across the lifespan. I have also had this privilege as a registered nurse. This has enabled my understanding of how mental health impacts our physical health and vice versa. I would like to think that my opportunities to live abroad and travel to varying countries has enabled me to consider how cultural values, beliefs and perspectives affect our daily experiences. I look forward to working with you. I can provide services to you in either English or Spanish.
Health is one of the most important things in life. I believe everybody has the right to healthcare and should be able to access standard health maintenance and receive the appropriate care for their medical needs. As a provider of Clinicas del Camino Real, Inc., my focus is to utilize the best of my knowledge and skills in providing the best care possible. I also believe that good communication is the key to success in the collaboration between doctors and patients. I strive to make sure that the patient’s questions and concerns are taken care of and will work together with them towards their healthcare goals.
As a psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience, I have a special emphasis on working with children, adolescent, and young adults. My work is grounded in family systems theory, recognizing the complex interplay of individual family and society. I take a client-centered approach, allowing the unique needs of each individuals as they navigate the challenges in their lives. When I am not working, I love spending time with family and enjoying the outdoors.
Hello, my name is Carmen and I graduated from MCPHS University in Boston with a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. My philosophy behind medicine is a team approach between the patient and provider. Improving health outcomes can only be made if the provider and patient are working together and making changes that are realistic and necessary to lead a healthy and enriching life. I greatly enjoy working with the pediatric population and treat patients based on family-centered care. This approach is based off holistic medicine and prioritizing the perspectives and needs of the patient and family first. Because of the growing problem with obesity in America in both the adult and pediatric populations, I am passionate about making small changes in fitness and nutrition to help patients live a strong and rewarding life.
