Practitioners are ensured independence and impartiality in making referral decisions that will not influence:
- This statement affirms that the basis of all Medical Management decision-making is based only on the existence of medical coverage, medical necessity, and appropriateness of care and service.
- This statement affirms that CDCR does not specifically reward practitioner or other individuals for issuing denials of coverage or service of care.
- There are no financial incentives for Medical Management decision-makers that would encourage decisions to underutilize medical services, treatments, supplies, or devices.
Practitioners are ensured independence and impartiality in making referral decisions that will not influence:
- Hiring
- Compensation
- Termination
- Promotion
- Any other similar matters
