JOB OBJECTIVE
The staff Optometrist is primarily responsible for providing Optometry services to patients of Clinicas del Camino Real, Inc., including referrals for ancillary and specialty services not provided by the Community Clinic.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of an Optometrist as a primary health care provider are to specialize in the examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and disorders of the visual system, the eye and associated structures as well as the diagnosis of related systemic conditions.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
A doctor of Optometry is one who meets the standards, roles, regulations, practices and procedures relating to the clinical practice of Optometry in an optometric clinical entry in order to assure the public the highest standards of vision care.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an accredited school of Optometry and licensed to practice Optometry in the State of California by the California State Board of Optometry. Because ofthe low income and migrant types of patients seen by the Clinic, the ability to speak both English and Spanish is highly desirable.
