What is Newborn Care?

Newborn Care includes the visits, vaccines and everyday guidance that help your baby stay healthy in their first year of life. From checkups to milestones, Clinicas can help you navigate each stage of your baby's growth with clarity and care.

Why Early Infant Checkups Matter

Newborn Care is necessary to help you:

  • Track your baby's weight, height and early development
  • Catch concerns before any symptoms escalate
  • Start their vaccinations according to schedule - we follow the CDC early immunization schedule

Common Newborn Services Provided

Your Clinicas provider will adapt each visit to your baby's needs. Our services include:

When to Schedule Your First Visit

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends newborn checkups within 3 to 5 days of birth. From there, we'll map out a schedule that fits your baby's development - 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months and beyond - following the AAPs recommendations for well-child care.

Newborn Care Services at Clinicas

Clinicas offers Newborn Care services across Ventura County. Our team focuses on giving families genuine support throughout their baby's health and development cycle.

Wellness Exams and Growth Monitoring

Your Clinicas provider can:

  • Take measurements of your baby's weight, length and the size of their head
  • Check their reflexes and alertness
  • Ask about their sleep and feeding cycles
  • Explain which signs are normal and which might not be

We've built a place where you're free to ask whatever's on your mind.

Immunizations for Newborns

Vaccinating your baby can shield them from major infections early on. That's why Clinicas focuses on:

  • Following the CDC's recommended vaccination schedule
  • Starting with a dose of the hepatitis B vaccine at birth, as advised by the CDC's hepatitis B guidelines
  • Walking you through each vaccnie, explaining potential side effects, and making sure you know exactly when to reach out for help

With Clinicas, you'll always leave knowing what standard of care your baby received and why.

Parent and Family Education

You don't need to know everything before you arrive. Our providers know how to meet you where you are and explain what's necessary. Clinicas offers:

  • Newborn education through Infant Care
  • One-on-one counseling during visits
  • Materials and support in both English and Spanish
