JOB OBJECTIVE Under the supervision of the Controller, the Accountant is responsible for assignments with General Ledger maintenance, enforcing fiscal policies and maintaining a system of internal controls.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accountant is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the general ledger; prepares monthly journal entries, assist with preparation of schedules and worksheets for reconciliation of balance sheets accounts and revenue accounts. Files finance reports in good order, prepares method cash flow statement, maintains fixed asset files for audit review and reconciles fixed assets and books depreciation. Prepares monthly financial statements and departmental income statements. Assists with preparing Sales and used tax returns and 571-L property tax returns. Generate vendor 1099 reporting annually. The Accountant may provide training to the Accounting department, assist with vendor inquiries, assist with annual audits and attend meetings as needed. Will perform other duties as assigned, including participation in all safety programs which may include assessment to an emergency team.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. Three to Five years of experience in accounting position(s). Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel. Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics GP and Management Reporter accounting software is a highly desirable. The Accountant works in a fast paced environment that requires strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and analytical with a consistent record of meeting deadlines.
