Duties
The Finance Manager is responsible for assisting with General Ledger maintenance, enforcement of fiscal policies and maintaining a system of internal control. Works under the supervision of and reports to the Chief Financial Officer
The Finance Manager is responsible for performing the following duties:
Assists with the maintenance of the general ledger; prepares monthly journal entries, assists with preparation of schedules and worksheets for reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and revenue accounts.
Files finance reports, prepares direct method cash flow statement, maintains fixed asset files for audit review and reconciles fixed assets and books depreciation.
Prepares monthly financial statements and departmental income statements.
Assists with preparing Sales and Use tax returns, and 571-L property tax returns.
Assists with grants/contracts reconciliations, journal entries, cost reports, management reports.
Works with other departments and external personnel to ensure that deadlines are met per the grant/contract requirements.
Assists with vendor inquiries and with annual audits.
May provide training to Accounting staff as needed.
Acts as a resource and leader and may provide supervision for Accounting, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Purchasing, Payroll and Administrative staff.
Promptly and effectively addresses and brings to resolution employee relations and other departmental matters or concerns.
Provides resources, support, and solutions to Health Centers regarding unit related issues.
Interacts and provides support to Management as necessary and attends group or committee meetings if required.
Will assist with other special projects and duties as assigned, including participation in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting is required. Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience supervising staff. Three or more years of general ledger maintenance experience is highly preferred. Previous work experience in a health care related environment is a plus. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel. Experience working with Great Plains accounting software and/or FRx accounting software is desired. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, highly motivated and analytical with a consistent record of meeting deadlines.
