Duties
The CMO provides leadership in all aspects of medical affairs, including clinical care, quality measures, medical staff governance, and clinical integration. Additionally, the CMO acts as the Medical Director of a managed care organization so experience in managed care is a necessity. The CMO works with management, medical staff, the board and other constituents to influence thinking and recommend policy and strategic direction.

Requirements
Prior administrative, clinical and managed care experience. Board eligible or certified in a primary care field, preferably with an MPH or MPA. Thorough medical and administrative knowledge in analyzing and coordinating healthcare activities. Requires strong leadership and creative skills and ability. Must be resourceful and use good judgment in the analysis and solution of medical administrative problems. Must be able to show sensitivity to the medical needs of an underserved community. Possession of a valid license to practice medicine issued by the California State Board of Medical Examiners.
