The personal and professional story of Kathy Adams, MS stands out as a compelling journey shaped by commitment and a fervent dedication to compassionate care. Originating from the Chicago area, Kathy brought her expertise throughout the Midwest before bringing her to California in 2021. Inspired by her mother, who was a nurse, Kathy found her passion for healthcare early in life. Hearing about her mother's experiences and the impact she had on patients motivated Kathy to contribute to the healthcare field. With this inspiration, she embarked on a career that allowed her to positively influence patient care.

My whole life, I always heard about my mom's exeperiences and wanted to somehow get into healthcare in anway possible. She really inspired me to be able to impact patients even from a human resources standpoint.

Kathy's academic pursuits commenced at the University of Iowa, where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Her initial entrance into the healthcare realm was marked by a role in recreational therapy, setting the stage for a career deeply rooted in compassionate care. Further academic pursuits led her to Loyola University in Chicago, where she earned her Master of Science degree in Organizational Development.

A trailblazer in her field, Kathy's impact echoes through accolades such as winning the Organizational Development Impact Award in Chicago and achieving Magnet Accreditation for a health system spanning Illinois and Wisconsin. Kathy has also held a multitude of healthcare related roles including; Senior Performance Consultant, Manager of Effectiveness, Director of Education and Organizational Development, Senior Director of Human Resources Operations and Systems Organization Development, and finally Chief Human Resources Officer. Throughout all of her positions, Kathy’s focus has remained on reducing turnover and enhancing organizational culture. This paints a portrait of a leader committed to fostering positive environments.

I'm inspired just by the people that I work with. I like to see when employees and organizations reach their potential. I'm driven by wanting to do the right thing, by our patients and by our employees.

In July 2022, Kathy brought her wealth of experience to Clinicas del Camino Real, Inc. where she serves as the organization’s Chief Human Resources Officer. Kathy excels in change management, training and development, and positively influencing organizational culture. Drawn by the potential she sees in individuals and organizations, she is a firm believer that if organizations invest in their people they will be happier. Thus, giving them the drive to deliver better patient care to the community.

I look forward to contributing to the growth and success of the organization, and to building strong relationships with everyone. As well as executing a vision of collaborative success that transcends the bounds of day-to-day operations.
