Under the general supervision of the Medical Director, the Nursing Director is responsible for directing administrative support services for the nursing and medical assisting staff. In addition, the Nursing Director performs clinical nursing services as appropriate. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBLITIES The Nursing Director is responsible for the following: • Establish the clinical direction for nursing care delivery in the ambulatory clinic environment. • Provide clinical supervision and ensure that nursing practices are in accordance with the philosophy, objectives and standards of Clinicas. • Direct patient care and quality assurance operations related to the clinical support staff. • Formulate nursing policies and procedures. • Coordinate professional educational and training programs within guidelines provided by the corporation. • Supervise the Charge Nurses and Medical Assistants and performing periodic evaluations. • Participate in short and long term program planning for the Medical Department. • Perform other duties as assigned including participation in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.
Minimum of 8 years clinical experience, with an active nursing license. Bachelors degree in Nursing is required and Masters degree in Nursing, Healthcare or Business Administration or related field is preferred. Demonstrated leadership success and clinical strength with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership position within an ambulatory setting Work is performed in a professional setting. Working extended hours may be required as needed. Extended periods of sitting, standing and walking may be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
