Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Ultrasound Technician’s main responsibility is to perform diagnostic ultrasound images, produce documentation, and share essential information with health care personnel in order to diagnose and monitor a variety of conditions such as cancer, heart disease, pregnancy. The Ultrasound Technician will explain procedure to patient; interview and obtain patient history; maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work atmosphere in accordance with policies and procedures; position patients properly and communicate effectively with health care professionals, nursing units, and others; developing and maintaining positive interpersonal relations with other department personnel; perform assessment on patients of various conditions and ages, considering the physical and physiological needs of every patient; and record and maintain all records concerning the ultrasound exam. Additionally the Ultrasound Technician participates in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.

Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from an accredited institution of Ultrasound technology. Course completion in Ultrasound technology or has accomplished eligibility requirements for ARDMS. Knowledge of sterile techniques. Knowledge of processes to obtain technically diagnostic ultrasound images. Ability to operate equipment provided for obtaining highest quality ultrasound images. Ability to manage complex work environment. Effective communication and good interpersonal skills.
