The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) supports and provides assistance to Dentists chair-side. Assists with set-up of equipment, prepares patient for treatment and assists during procedures. Responsibilities: • Knowledge of principles and methods of sterilization • Uses of the more common dental instruments, equipment and materials; dental hygiene and prophylaxis; dental X-Ray; names of the teeth and various surfaces of the crown of the tooth. • Ability to communicate effectively at a level required for successful job performance • Identify the more common dental instruments, equipment, and materials • Mix amalgam and prepare dental accessories.
Registered Dental Assistant: • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent • Two years’ experience • Registered Dental Assistant certificate/license • Coronal Polishing certificate and X-Ray certificate and current C.P.R.
