Personal Statement

Amanda J. Setto, OD, is a Clinicas del Camino Real, Inc. Optometrist. Dr. Setto began her journey to becoming a Vision Care Provider at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Minor in Psychology. She then participated in clinical and scientific research at the University of California, Los Angeles, in Los Angeles, California, and taught at the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Setto then went to Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, for her Doctorate in Optometry. 

During her time in optometry school, she honed her leadership skills, thrived academically, and enjoyed giving back to the community. As a result, she was inducted as a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. Dr. Setto is also a proud member of the American Academy of Optometry and has written articles and textbook chapters, and presented on a plethora of case reports on topics such as ocular disease, refractive surgery, and cataract surgery.

In her free time, Dr. Setto enjoys spending time with her family, learning new languages, watching movies, and nourishing her creative appetite by maintaining her optometry blog.
