As an Optometrist, I have a passion for helping people see their absolute best. My career in optometry first started at California Lutheran University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Psychology. After graduation, I engaged in clinical and scientific research at UCLA and also taught at the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth before attending Western University of Health Sciences for my Doctorate in Optometry. During optometry school, I honed my leadership skills, thrived academically and enjoyed giving back to the community. As a result, I was inducted as a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society.
Currently I am proud member of the American Academy of Optometry and have written articles, textbook chapters and presented a plethora of case reports on the topics of ocular disease, refractive and cataract surgery.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, learning new languages, watching movies and nourishing my creative appetite by maintaining an optometry blog.
Como Optometrista, me apasiona ayudar a las personas a ver en la forma absolutamente mejor posible. Mi carrera en la optometría se inició en la Universidad Luterana de California, donde obtuve una Licenciatura de Ciencias en Biología con una subespecialidad en Psicología. Después de mi graduación, me dediqué a la investigación clínica y científica en UCLA, y también impartí clase en el Centro Johns Hopkins para Jóvenes con Talento antes de asistir a la Western University of Health Sciences para realizar mi Doctorado en Optometría. Durante la escuela de optometría, perfeccioné mis habilidades de liderazgo, prosperé académicamente y disfruté devolviendo el servicio a la comunidad. Como resultado, fui nombrada miembro de la Sociedad Honorífica Internacional Gold Key de Optometría.
Actualmente me enorgullece ser miembro de la Academia Americana de Optometría y he escrito artículos, capítulos de libros de texto, y presentado abundantes informes de casos sobre temas de enfermedades oculares y cirugía refractiva y de cataratas.
En mi tiempo libre, me gusta pasar tiempo con mi familia y mis amigos, aprender idiomas nuevos, ver películas y alimentar mi apetito creativo, manteniendo un blog de optometría.
