Job description

SUMMARY

The Health Information Data Analyst (HIDA) gathers and interprets data from a variety of sources, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), billing claims, cost reports, and patient claim data, to help in lowering the cost of care, enhancing the patient experience, and ultimately driving healthcare quality improvement. The HIDA is responsible for data analysis, verification, and load mapping of patients’ biographical data and clinical healthcare data related to medical, RX, eligibility, and other types of data files. In this critical role, the HIDA performs various functions, including collecting, storing, retrieving, and presenting data that supports clinical and business decisions.

JOB OBJECTIVE

The HIDA works under the supervision of the Senior Manager of Applications and Database. The primary objective of the HIDA is to analyze, maintain, and optimize clinical Information systems data. The HIDA interacts with a multi-cultural population of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, levels or education and ages.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The major tasks, duties, and responsibilities of a Health Information Data Analyst role within Clinicas are as follow:

· Reports and presents clinical insights from the analysis of data from healthcare claims.

· Provides suggestions on ways to improve healthcare delivery, quality, and cost effectiveness for the patient healthcare plan population at large.

· Responsible for standard and ad-hoc extracts/reports across multiple primary and secondary data sources.

· Responsible for tracking on-going outcomes reports and manage priorities for upcoming reports.

· Build models that capture a wide range of healthcare delivery data.

· Provides statistical analysis of large and complex datasets and ensures accuracy in analysis.

· Addresses project objectives by developing and implementing statistical analysis plans.

· Responsible for sophisticated code and sound statistical reports.

· Reviews operational and clinical documents from CMS, provided by Health Plan, or NetxtGen to meet measures such as Meaningful Use and HEDIS

· Performs data analysis, and presents clinical data/reports using SSRS or Tableau

· Understands data in the context of clinical process and workflow

· Engages clinicians and other end-users to identify required clinical workflows

· Training Applications end-users

· Tier Level 1/ Level 2 Clinical Application support in person and call.

· Template modification and development

· Performs other duties as assigned including participation in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience

· A minimum of three years’ experience in the health care industry is preferred.

· Experience with T-SQL preferred

· Experience with Electronic Health Records systems preferred
