I am a graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry (SCOO) and I provide comprehensive patient care and specialty contact lens fits. I am certified in therapeutics, lacrimal and glaucoma from the California State Board of Optometry. My doctorate research included a study of the relationship between age and dry eye.
I was born in Mexico and grew up in Somis, California. I am bilingual and bicultural. I joined Clinicas del Camino Real in 2002 and I enjoy caring for the diverse population of Ventura County. I also very much enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking, reading and hiking.
I have been with Clinicas del Camino Real, Inc. since August 2011 as a Board Certified Family Physician. I became Associate Medical Director in 2013 and have been the Chief Medical Officer for Clinicas since March 2014. I received my Undergraduate and Medical degrees from Government Medical College, Amritsar, India. I completed my residency at The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health University of Pennsylvania where I became Chief Resident. I worked in Botswana, Africa for a few years focusing on HIV/AIDS and multi- drug resistance tuberculosis patients. My responsibilities at Clinicas have included Physician Care, Hospitalist, auditing, and policy development.
I am a member of multiple Committees where I have been an integral part in overseeing primary care, specialty and quality assurance functions.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have had the opportunity to work closely with clients at all stages of life, from diverse backgrounds and with complex mental health needs. I have extensive experience working with perinatal mental health issues and have enjoyed assisting families navigate the joys and difficulties of parenthood. I have spent over five years providing services to clients in medical settings, learning the effects and impact that physical health can have on emotional well-being. Additionally, I have provided supportive counseling to severely emotionally disturbed children, adolescents and their families. Currently, I enjoy providing school-based counseling services to adolescents. I specialize in providing warm guidance and support to those struggling with trauma, chronic health concerns, bereavement, substance abuse, anger management and difficult family dynamics, among other topics. I use a comprehensive theoretical framework composed of evidence based modalities, such as Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. We all have unique experiences and beliefs and I feel it is important as a therapist to adapt to meet each client’s individual needs.
I graduated from UC Davis with a B.A. in Sociology with an emphasis on Social Welfare and a minor in Human Development. I then went on to receive my Masters in Social Work from UC Berkeley. I was born and raised in Ventura County and I am dedicated to giving back to my community. Beyond my career, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, my pups, gardening, reading and running.
I was born in Mexico and was raised here in Ventura County. I attended Santa Clara High School and received my bachelor's degree in Zoology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I was blessed to attend and attain my degree of Doctor of Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley.
I became an Optometrist so that I may provide the caring and personalized Optometric services that our unique, and often under-served, population of Ventura County deserves. Clinicas del Camino Real allows me to satisfy my personal and professional goals. It has been truly gratifying to serve our patients over the past years.
I was born and raised in Ventura County. As a bilingual Psychologist, I feel fortunate to be working in a multi-disciplinary setting like Clinicas. It is my goal to provide quality mental health services to a diverse population.
In 2001 I earned my Psy.D. (Doctorate in Psychology) in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. I then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Harbor- UCLA Medical Center.
I have worked with clients ranging in age from 2 years old to the elderly. I have provided services in a variety of settings including community-based, inpatient, outpatient and other hospitals and organizations. I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults who exhibit a variety of emotional and behavioral issues including, depression, anxiety, ADHD, anger management, stress management, grief and loss, trauma related and other various psychiatric disorders.
