Hi. My name is Lisa Erickson. I am a bilingual LCSW with a great passion for serving individuals, families and teens. I love to travel, read and exercise. I am passionate about balanced living, including spiritual, emotional, mental and physical well-being.
I have a special interest in managing obesity which is becoming a serious health issue on an epidemic level. It is not only affecting our children physically, but also leaving a tremendous negative impact psychologically and financially on our society.
I obtained my license in 2011 as a clinical Psychologist. I have over 10 years of experience working in the field of psychology in different settings, such as in schools, a psychiatric hospital, and community clinics. I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients obtain an improvement in the behavioral and emotional difficulties they are experiencing. I work with clients of all ages. My goal is to provide psychotherapy to a diverse population and Clinicas Del Camino Real has given me the opportunity to do so. I am proud to be a team member of Clinicas to help provide care to an under-served population.
I am a Board Certified Family Medicine physician. I have enjoyed working with Clinicas for over 20 years and enjoy taking care of my patients. I graduated from the Riverside General Hospital Family Medicine program in 1995 and joined Clinicas that same year.
I am married and have twin boys. I speak English, Arabic and some Spanish.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Child Psychologist, I am interested in helping youth, families and adults adjust to life's many challenges and to develop their understanding of themselves and the world around them. There are many clinical approaches to mental health. I utilize what is most comfortable and compatible for the patient, but above all I try to create a comfortable, protective, confidential and respectful environment conducive to conversation. I have enjoyed working clinically for many years in private practice, hospital, university and school environments, as well as developing programs for traumatized and bereaved populations in the U.S. and abroad. Most recently I co-authored a book on school counseling that grew out of Fullbright-Nehru Lecturer grant to India ("A School Counsellor Casebook"). Beyond my clinical work, I enjoy hiking, photography, travel, friendships and family (including an adorable poodle!).
